Onion plants produce the fastest result—you'll have bulbs 3 1/2 months after planting. Growing Tip: "Long day" onions need 13-16 hours for optimum development and are best suited to the long summer days of northern areas. "Short day" varieties need only 12 hours or less of daylight and thrive in mild-winter regions. Note: Onion plants can now be shipped to Idaho.
