Home gardeners as well as market growers will love the berries on this plant. They're large with a gorgeous blue coloring, firm, sweetly flavored and have a wonderful tropical fruit aroma. They're an absolute delight whether eaten fresh, cooked into desserts or made into preserves. Camellia Southern Highbush Hybrid Blueberry consistently produces uniformly large berries. The upright, vigorous plants grow 5-6 ft. tall and require 500 chill hours. While the plants are self-pollinating, they will produce larger crops if grown with other blueberries. Ripens mid to late season. Zones 7-8.

Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
Pruning: Mature blueberry bushes should be pruned lightly, but not until they are three years old. Once they have reached three years, you should begin pruning early in the Spring every year. Just remove some of the oldest branches, and snip off any very weak looking twigs. Then you can trim all of the remaining stems by 1/3. Removing a third of the branches forces new growth, and new growth bears the most fruit.
Foliage: Medium green foliage, topside of leaf is green, underside yellow, turning glossy-reddish in the Fall.
