This widespread native cherry has a long history of important uses. The valuable wood is used for furniture, the bark is used to make wild cherry cough syrup, and liqueur, jelly and wine can be made from the fruit. Trees grow 25- to 80-ft. tall and provide not only fruit, but beautiful blooms and shade. Zones 3-9. 3-4' bareroot.
This is a beautiful tree, but it is susceptible to borers - so be prepared to nematode the soil as you would peaches.
