Comments: Mix peat moss, compost, or aged manure deeply into the soil. Very slow to show growth after planting or in spring. Mottled bark appears on older trees; bark shreds attractively on new canes. Autumn foliage is red to dark purple-red . Mature trees display interesting, mottled bark. Trees should flower the first year, but will produce heavier flowering during second or third season. Make excellent container grown trees.
