Comments: Mulato Isleno is a midly pungent (ranking at 1,000 - 1,500 Scovilles) heart shaped pepper which ripens from deep glossy green to rich dark chocolate brown. Referred to as a poblano pepper when fresh and an ancho pepper when dry. Mulato Isleno is a favorite for roasting and using in traditional chiles rellenos. Dried & ground ancho pepper is a favorite seasoning in meat rubs, sauces, moles and other traditional Southwestern dishes.
