76 days. A favorite in southwestern fare. Known as a poblano when fresh and an ancho when dried. Ideal for roasting and in sauces and rubs. Preferred for chiles rellenos. These 4- to 6-in. long peppers mature to a deep chocolate-brown color. Mildly hot.

Comments: Mulato Isleno is a midly pungent (ranking at 1,000 - 1,500 Scovilles) heart shaped pepper which ripens from deep glossy green to rich dark chocolate brown. Referred to as a poblano pepper when fresh and an ancho pepper when dry. Mulato Isleno is a favorite for roasting and using in traditional chiles rellenos. Dried & ground ancho pepper is a favorite seasoning in meat rubs, sauces, moles and other traditional southwestern dishes.
