VF-74 days. Highly productive, open-pollinated type. Solid, 7- to 8-oz. fruits have a small seed cavity, super flavor— cook up into a thick, tasty sauce. Determinate.
Note: Plants will ship in Spring.
One of the best tasting tomato ever. Can be sliced or quartered for salads and is meaty enough to hold together for sandwiches, and makes great pastes and juice. It is a little slower to set fruit than some others but gives fairly large yield well into the fall. Seeds store well with good viability for years. My current plants are from 2006 seeds with 75% viability. I grow 6 to 8 every year.
Rutgers are wonderful! I make spagetti sauce and the tomatos cook thick and has a very good taste for sandwiches.
