78 days. "Tender and unbelievably sweet;" "Pops off the cob;" "Full of flavor, crisp and juicy," were just some of the comments from our staff upon tasting our new sweet corn. But when someone exclaimed "That's delicious!" we knew that's what we had to call it.
If perfection can grow on a cob, this is it! Tender-crisp kernels melt in your mouth with unimaginable sweetness that still has that rich old-fashioned corn flavor.
This new generation of sweet corn has been bred to hold flavor
and texture for over three weeks in its husks in the refrigerator.
It's also extremely slow to turn starchy so you have a longer
time to harvest than ever before. That's Delicious! is excellent
for freezing—it will hold its scrumptious flavor so you can enjoy
it in the middle of winter. The husks offer excellent protection
for the 8-in. bicolor ears and stalks are as tough as field corn,
ensuring you excellent harvests to share with appreciative family
and perhaps some very lucky neighbors. We know you will enjoy
That's Delicious! every bit as much as we do—and can't wait until
you have a chance to try it for yourself. Enjoy!
Isolate from su, se and synergistic-type corn by 250-300 ft. or at
least 3 weeks maturity time—can be grown with any sh2 varieties.
For best germination be sure that soil is warm before planting.
First of all, I'm actually in Eastern Ontario, Canada (no options for provinces in the list) and this variety grows well in our zone 4.5 climate. We have farms around here that sell "sweet corn" but by far, they're nothing compared to these! And they serve a dual purpose, there's a bit of sugar in the stalks too so our horses get a treat whenever we pick some ears! Very easy to grow for a novice like me and the rewards are amazing! Definitely worth the price of seed!
This is hands down the BEST sweet corn I have ever tasted and grown. Germination rate on the Field's seeds were extremely high. The stalks are nice and tall and yield 2 very nice ears of corn. The corn has a nice "pop" when you bite into it and it holds this pop and its sweetness well in the fridge for a couple of days. That's Delicious is also a very good freezer corn. I grow this variety to sell also and have a lot of people that but exclusively from me because no one else can figure out why my corn is far superior to other frower' corn in the area!! Thank you Henry Field's for a superior product!!
I've always been a Silver Queen fan. Last year I tried That's Delicious and that's the only corn I plan to grow this year. Best taste fresh or frozen.
This is the best corn I have ever had! It has grown well in both wet and dry seasons. We love it fresh and frozen. Great in my black bean and pepper salsa!
this year in Iowa we had a terrible drout. Our sweet corn did the best. we and everyone that we shared it with loved it said it was the best sweet corn they ever ate. the ears were long and full and sooo sweet. Put several packages in the freezer but haven't tried them yet. Great sweet corn.
Do you remember when you were a little kid and the corn was so sweet? I do. I was starting to think that I just remembered it wrong and it just tasted better as a child. Think again. I tried this a few years ago and have bought nothing else since then. I can go out in my garden and eat them raw staight off the stalk. When I steam them it is so tastey, I feel like a little kid once again. No other type for me.
Excellent yield and flavor but roasting ears do not freeze well. Slightly mushy texture after freezing. Never have had this problem with other varieties.
