Bela Lugosi Daylily

Color Rarely Seen in Daylilies

  • Deep purple flowers with lime green throats
  • Award winner
  • Blooms in midsummer
  • Grows 32-34 in. tall
  • Low-maintenance perennial

One of the best purple daylilies we've found. The deep purple, 6-inch, trumpet-shaped flowers with lime green throats add brilliant color to the midsummer garden—and the color does not fade in the summer sun. This award-winning daylily looks great in the perennial garden, borders or planted en masse. Like other daylilies, Bela Lugosi Daylily has attractive, grasslike foliage. It's low maintenance and adaptable to many soil conditions. Daylilies get their name from the fact that each flower lasts for only one day. However, each plant produces many blooms, so you'll enjoy lots of flowers throughout the blooming season. Bela Lugosi performs best when planted in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Grows 32-34 inches tall. Zones 3-9.

Is Jumbo the Way to Go?
This daylily is available in a Jumbo Bareroot size. Ideal for gardeners who hate to wait, jumbo bareroots have a considerable head start over our standard #1 size.

Jumbo bareroot benefits:

  • Instant landscape impact
  • Faster plant growth
  • Earlier blooms—likely within the first year
Our jumbo bareroot, multi-fan clumps have larger, more established root systems to produce more blooming scapes per plant than standard #1 bareroots.
