A traditional favorite in the summertime landscape, exotic poppies feature delicate, crepe-paperlike petals that surround dark centers. Our mix was specially selected to include a range of colors in shades of orange, white, red, purple or pink. Each 4-6", cup-shaped flower stands tall on 24-36" stems that have a bristled, hairy texture and leaves that form a nice rosette at the base. Their somewhat ethereal look makes them a nice complement to shorter, more substantial perennials such as creeping phlox. Poppies are long lived if left undisturbed. For best results, plant in a full-sun spot with well-drained soil. They have very long roots, so a deep hole is required. Hardy in Zones 3-7.
