Comments: This shade tree is known for its attractive foliage and fragrant flowers. Foliage is glossy, dark green on top, and densely covered in silvery-white hairs below, which create a two-toned effect as they flutter whimsically in a breeze. Fragrant, pale yellow flowers cover the tree in late spring to early summer, attracting bees and butterflies. Small nutlets follow, and ripen in late summer. The fall color of this deciduous tree is pale green to soft yellow. Attractive columnar habit with upright branching. Once established, this tree becomes drought tolerant. Great choice for city planting, as it is tolerant of urban conditions.
