Comments: One of the slowest lettuce varieties to bolt-go to seed! The frilled, ruffled, bright green leaves of this Grand Rapids type grow in thick clusters. Nice, pleasant flavor that is never bitter, and maintains its sweetness in warm weather. A great choice for southern gardens or greenhouse growth. Slow to bolt, never bitter, and its ability to deal with warm weather have made this a very popular variety since it was introduced in 1946.
