Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Prunus persica "Yumm Yumm'
  • Height: Standard trees can grow 15 - 20 feet tall. Semi-dwarf varieties can grow 12 - 16 feet tall.
  • Spacing: Standard - 16 feet. Semi-dwarf - 12 feet.
  • Depth: Plant with graft union 2 inches above soil surface.
  • Spread: 15 feet for standard, 10 - 12 feet for semi-dwarf.
  • Sun/Shade: Full Sun.
  • Foliage: Medium green, long narrow leaves.
  • Blooms: April
  • Form: Deciduous. Spreading.
  • Flower Form: Light pink blossoms.
  • Soil Requirements: Well-drained, organic, sandy loam soil.
  • Growth Rate: Medium growth rate.
  • Pruning: Nectarine trees need to be pruned to optimize fruit production and allow sunlight into the tree. Most home gardeners do not prune their trees enough. Pruning encourages new growth and shapes the tree. Prune nectarines hard, removing most of the previous year's growth. Fruit will be produced on the previous year's wood, so leave enough to ensure a good crop, but not overburden the tree. Removing interior branches opens up the tree and allows light to penetrate to lower branches.
  • Fruit: Medium - small fruit, mostly red skin with a small amount of white background color. Clingstone with white melting flesh.
  • Pollinator: Self-pollinating.
  • Yield: Approximately 2 - 5 bushels at maturity for standard, 1 - 2 bushels for semi-dwarf..
  • Comments :
One bite and Yumm Yumm is what you'll be saying about this new, smooth skinned white nectarine that combines the sweetness of a white peach with the sprightly, unparalleled flavor of fresh-from-the-tree nectarines. Sets dependable yields of juicy, melt-in-your-mouth fruit in mid to late June. Resistant to bacterial spot - those pesky spots you see on most peaches.

I got a SD tree 2 years ago. Last year I had to majorly thin fruit. When all was said and done I had about a bushel of nectarines. They were the most delicious things I have ever tasted! I shared with family and neighbors who all agreed.
