Product Details

  • Botanical Name: Ficus carica 'Brown Turkey'
  • Height: 8 - 10 feet, but shorter if planted in containers
  • Spacing: 3 - 5 feet
  • Depth: Plant at the same level as n the pot.
  • Spread: 3 - 4 feet
  • Sun/Shade: Full sun to partial shade
  • Foliage: 3 to 5 lobed medium green, coarse in texture.
  • Form: Tender fruit
  • Flower Form: Inconspicuous flowers (hidden inside the bud).
  • Soil Requirements: Well-drained - not particular about soil, will take clay-like or sandy as long as it well drained
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Pruning: Do not require regular pruning once established. Prune figs trees annually during the first three growing seasons to establish desired shape. Best to prune immediately after the main crop is harvested in early fall.
  • Fruit: Dark mahogany skin with rich red flesh
  • Pollinator: Self pollinating.
  • Yield: Varies
