  • Botanical Name: Rubus x 'Apache'
  • Height: 5 - 8 feet, upright
  • Spacing: 3 - 4 feet
  • Depth: Same depth as they were in the nursery. Plant so the roots are below soil level.
  • Spread: 4 - 8 feet
  • Sun/Shade: Full Sun
  • Color: White blossoms.
  • Foliage: Compound, mid green, pubescent foliage.
  • Blooms: Early Summer for several weeks.
  • Form: Deciduous semi-woody canes.
  • Soil Requirements: Tolerant of a wide range of soils, will do best in well-drained, humus enriched, slightly acidic soil.
  • Growth Rate: Fast growth rate once established, which takes approximately 3 - 5 weeks.
  • Pruning: Trim canes to 42 inches, remove unwanted ones in early Spring.
  • Fruit: Large glossy black fruit in great abundance.
  • Pollinator: Self-pollinating.
  • Yield: Heavy yields.

I got my plant May 29th and it had one nice thick root on a stalk with no visible buds. I wasn't sure if that stalk would make it, but yesterday June 10th I noticed a new shoot coming up next to the stalk. Yeah...it's happy. I'm happy so far. Thanks
