You'll enjoy these big (the size of a quarter), delicious berries for more than six weeks during the summer. Pest and disease resistant.   • Botanical Name: Vaccinium corymbosum 'Chandler'; Family: Ericaceae
  • Height: 5 - 7 feet
  • Spacing: 5 feet
  • Depth: Plant at the same depth as in the container.
  • Spread: 5 - 7 feet
  • Sun/Shade: Full sun
  • Color: Snow-white; sometimes tinged with pink, tiny bell shaped blossoms.
  • Foliage: Deep green foliage turning wine & orange shades in Fall.
  • Blooms: Mid-Spring
  • Form: Deciduous bush; slightly spreading.
  • Flower Form: Bell-shaped blooms.
  • Soil Requirements: Acidic, moist, organic, well-drained. pH should be 4.5 to 5.5.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Pruning: Prune before new growth begins in the Spring. Prune off twiggy growth leaving main stems.
  • Size: 1/4 inch blossoms.
  • Fruit: Deep sky-blue color; giant berries with excellent flavor.

  • Yield: Approximately 7 - 9 pounds at maturity with proper care.

After a few years when it first started bearing I came in the house telling everyone they had to come out and see them and they poo pooed me. Every time someone went out to get berries they would say the same thing. Wow dad you have to see the size of these berries. It was really funny. Now I almost wish that was the only one I have one berries worth 3 of most other and don't believe there not as good there great.
