Low-maintenance perennial delivers a splash of pink in late summer, and its brilliant pink, showy flowers attract hummingbirds. Its leaves emit a minty fragrance when crushed. Growing 3-4 ft. tall, Pink Bee Balm is very easy care and exhibits good disease resistance. It's a great plant for borders, naturalized areas and cottage gardens. Bee Balm, native to the eastern United States, blooms in July-August. Grows best when planted in full sun to partial shade. Deer tend to avoid. Zones 5-9.

  • Color: Rose-pink, purplish-blue or white with red centers.
  • Foliage: Late leafing in the spring. Medium green, often lustrous in summer. Color poor yellow in the fall.
  • Blooms: Midsummer through frost 3 months or more
  • Form: Deciduous shrub or small tree
  • Flower Form: 3"-4". 5 petaled., single flowering variety
  • Soil Requirements: Does best in moist, well-drained amended soil.Grows in about any soil except those which are extremely wet or dry.
  • Pruning: Prune back heavily to 2 or 3 buds to get larger flowers and to limit size. In early spring.
